Þingskjalið leggur til að Ísland undirritii og fullgildi þriðju valfrjálsu bókunina við barnasáttmála Sameinuðu þjóðanna, sem veitir börnum og fulltrúum þeirra heimild til að fara með mál til barnaréttarnefndar SÞ. Tillagan hefur það að markmiði að styrkja sjálfstæð réttindi barna á Íslandi og gera þeim kleift að leita réttar síns á alþjóðavettvangi.
