Þingmenn leggja til að umhverfis- og auðlindaráðherra kanni hagkvæmni og möguleika þess að reisa hátæknisorpbrennslustöð til að meðhöndla allt eða mest allt sorp sem ekki er hægt að endurvinna á Íslandi. Tillagan snýr að lausn á vaxandi sorpvandamáli þar sem of mikið sorp er nú urðað sem getur valdið umhverfismengun.
Parliamentary members propose that the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources examine the feasibility and possibilities of building a high-tech waste incineration plant to handle most or all waste that cannot be recycled in Iceland. The proposal addresses the growing waste problem where too much waste is currently landfilled, which can cause environmental pollution.
