Frumvarpið heimilar ríkisstjórninni að staðfesta ákvörðun EES-nefndarinnar nr. 83/2020 um að fella inn í EES-samninginn reglugerð ESB um höfuðlénið .eu og hlutverk þess. Þetta hefur áhrif á rafræn fjarskipti, hljóð- og myndmiðlun og upplýsingasamfélagið á Íslandi.
The bill authorizes the government to confirm EEA Committee decision no. 83/2020 to incorporate into the EEA Agreement an EU regulation on the .eu top-level domain and its role. This affects electronic communications, audiovisual media services and the information society in Iceland.
