Frumvarpið leggur til þjóðarátak í landgræðslu þar sem umhverfis- og auðlindaráðherra skal koma á samstarfi stjórnvalda, bænda, Landgræðslunnar, atvinnulífs og almennings til að auka kolefnisbindingu og græða upp eytt land. Tillagan hefur áhrif á alla þjóðfélagshópa og miðar að aukinni þátttöku almennings í landgræðslu með beinni þátttöku og kolefnisjöfnun viðskipta.
The bill proposes a national initiative in land restoration where the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources shall establish cooperation between government authorities, farmers, the Soil Conservation Service, businesses and the public to increase carbon sequestration and restore degraded land. The proposal affects all sectors of society and aims to increase public participation in land restoration through direct involvement and carbon offsetting of transactions.
