Frumvarpið leggur til að undanþiggja afurðastöðvar í kjötiðnaði frá samkeppnislögum til að þær geti sameinast og átt samstarf um að lækka kostnað. Markmiðið er að gera innlendan kjötiðnað samkeppnishæfari gagnvart erlendum framleiðendum og koma til móts við bæði neytendur og bændur.
The bill proposes to exempt meat processing plants from competition laws to allow them to merge and collaborate in reducing production, storage and distribution costs. The aim is to make domestic meat industry more competitive against foreign producers and benefit both consumers and farmers.
