Birni Leví Gunnarsson spyr ferðamála-, iðnaðar- og nýsköpunarráðherra hvernig Samkeppniseftirlitið hefur fylgst með samkeppni og viðskiptaháttum á íslensku mörkuðum á síðustu 10 árum, og hvort það hafi kannað tengsl milli fyrirtækja sem gætu takmarkað samkeppni. Hann vill vita hvaða skýrslur hafa verið gerðar um óæskilega samþjöppun valds og hringamyndun á mörkuðum, og hvaða aðgerðir hafa verið gerðar vegna þessara athugunar. Svörin myndu sýna okkur hvort eftirlitið virki virkt og hvort það hafi fundið vandamál sem þarf að leysa til að vernda samkeppni á Íslandi.
Birni Leví Gunnarsson asks the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Innovation how the Competition Authority has monitored competition and business practices on Icelandic markets over the past 10 years, and whether it has investigated links between companies that could restrict competition. He wants to know what reports have been made about unwanted concentration of power and market circles, and what actions have been taken based on these investigations. The answers would reveal whether the Competition Authority is actively working and whether it has identified problems that need to be solved to protect fair competition in Iceland.
