Þessi skýrsla fjallar um starfsemi Íslandsdeildar Vestnorræna ráðsins árið 2020, samstarfsvettvang þingmanna frá Íslandi, Grænlandi og Færeyjum. Hún lýsir helstu verkefnum ráðsins á árinu, þar á meðal samþykktum þingsályktunum um flugfargjalda niðurgreiðslu fyrir ungmenni og stofnun umhverfisverðlauna hafsins, auk þemaráðstefnu um vernd vestnorrænu tungumálanna. Skýrslan var lögð fram á Alþingi til að upplýsa um framgang og árangur vestnorræns samstarfs og breytingar á starfsháttum ráðsins, sem að mestu fóru fram í fjarfundum vegna kórónufaraldursins.
This report documents the activities of the Icelandic delegation of the West Nordic Council in 2020, a parliamentary cooperation forum for Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands. It describes the council's main achievements including parliamentary resolutions on subsidized airfares for youth and the establishment of West Nordic environmental maritime awards, as well as a thematic conference on protecting West Nordic languages. The report was submitted to Parliament to inform lawmakers about the progress of West Nordic cooperation and changes to the council's working procedures, which were largely conducted via video conferencing due to the coronavirus pandemic.
