Skýrslan fjallar um starfsemi Íslandsdeildar þingmannanefnda EFTA og EES á árinu 2020 og hlutverki þessara samtaka sem grundvallar íslenskrar utanríkisverslunar. Hún var lögð fram til að greina frá því hvernig faraldur COVID-19 hafði áhrif á starfið og hvernig nefndirnar störfuðu með fjarfundum í stað hefðbundinna funda. Skýrslan fjallar einnig um mikilvæg samstarf EFTA og ESB tengd sóttvörnum, bóluefnum og ríkissturkum, auk þess sem hún kynnir framvindu fríverslunarsamninga EFTA við þriðju ríki.
The report covers the activities of the Icelandic delegation of the EFTA and EEA parliamentary committees during 2020 and explains the role of these organizations as foundations of Iceland's foreign trade. It was submitted to report on how the COVID-19 pandemic affected the committees' work and how they adapted by using video conferences instead of traditional in-person meetings. The report also discusses important cooperation between EFTA and the EU related to public health, vaccines, and state aid, while presenting progress on EFTA's free trade agreements with third countries.
