Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að búið sé til ný lög um skráða sambúð sem leyfa fleiri en tveimur einstaklingum að skrá sig saman, ekki bara tveir eins og í dag. Tillagan er flutt vegna þess að margt fólk býr saman í hópum og vill sjálf réttindi í eignum, sköttum og öðrum málum, en núverandi lög leyfa það ekki. Þingið myndi beita dómsmálaráðherra að setja á fót hóp sem myndi semja nákvæm drög að þessum nýju lögum fyrir árið 2022. Ef tillagan gangi í gegn myndu foreldrar sem deilast um umönnun barna, vinir sem deila húsnæði eða ættingjar sem búa saman geta fenið sama lagalega vernd og giftar fólk.
This parliamentary resolution proposes creating new laws that would allow more than two people to register as a cohabiting unit together, rather than only couples as currently permitted. The proposal was put forward because many people live together in groups and want the same legal protections regarding property, taxes, and other matters, but current laws don't allow this. Parliament would ask the Justice Minister to form a working group to draft these new laws by 2022. If passed, parents sharing childcare responsibilities, friends sharing housing, or relatives living together could gain similar legal protections as married couples.
