Þessi þingsályktunartillaga biður Alþingi um leyfi til að staðfesta nýjar evrópsk reglur um langtímafjárfestingarsjóði og fjármálaþjónustu sem Ísland hefur samið um með öðrum EES-löndum. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að Evrópusambandið samþykkti nýjar reglur um fjárfestingasjóði og ríkisstjórnin vill að Ísland fylgi sömu reglum og önnur Evrópuríki. Ef þingsályktunin er samþykkt myndu nýjar reglur um fjárfestingarsjóði, viðmiðanir um markaðinn og vernd fyrir almenna fjárfesta gilda á Íslandi. Breytingarnar myndu gera það auðveldara fyrir fólk og fyrirtæki á Íslandi að fjárfesta langtíma og myndu auka regluverk um fjármálaþjónustu.
This parliamentary resolution asks the Icelandic Parliament for permission to approve new European regulations on long-term investment funds and financial services that Iceland has agreed to with other EEA countries. The proposal was put forward because the European Union adopted new rules for investment funds and the government wants Iceland to follow the same rules as other European countries.
