Bergþór Ólason spyr dómsmálaráðherra um það hversu margir erlendir ríkisborgarar hafa fengið íslenskan ríkisborgararétt á árunum 2005–2020, og hvernig þeir dreifa sér um landið. Hann vill einnig vita hversu margir nýju íslenskir ríkisborgarar búa erlendis og hvernig þeir skiptast á milli trúarfélaga og lífsskoðunarfélaga. Þetta skiptir máli vegna þess að það gæti gefið innsýn í innflytjendamálefni og hvernig margir erlendir aðilar verða íslenskir ríkisborgarar á hverju ári. Svörin myndu sýna okkur umfang og mynstur ríkisborgararéttarveitunar, og hvort nýir ríkisborgarar verða fyrir því að starfa erlendis eða hvort þeir standi sig sem samfélagar á Íslandi.
