Þessi þingsályktunartillaga felur í sér fordæmingu á ofbeldisaðgerðum ísraelsks herliðs gegn Palestínu og kröfur um að Ísrael hætti beitingu hervalds og yfirgefði hernumuð svæði. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að hundruð palestínskir borgarar, þar á meðal mörg börn, hafa dáið við nýlegar loftárásir og þúsundir eru slasaðir og heimlausir. Alþingi telur að árásirnar séu mannréttindabrot og kallari á önnur ríki heims að styðja Palestínu og mannréttindi. Ef tillagan nær fram gangi myndi hún ekki breyta neinu stjórnsýslukerfi beint, heldur væri hún yfirlýsing um afstöðu Íslands og áskorun til annarra ríkja um að styðja frelsa Palestínu.
