Þessi skýrsla fjallar um reynsluna af starfi nefnda Seðlabanka Íslands eftir að ný lög um bankann tóku gildi árið 2019, þar sem sameinuðu Seðlabanki og Fjármálaeftirlitið. Hún var lögð fram samkvæmt kröfu í lögunum um að forsætisráðherra myndi flytja Alþingi skýrslu þriggja óháðra sérfræðinga fyrir lok árs 2021 um hvernig þessi endirbyggingin hefur gengið og hvernig verkefnum er skipt á milli mismunandi nefnda bankans. Sérfræðingarnir komust að þeirri niðurstöðu að sameiningu hefur verið framkvæmd með góðum árangri og að áhyggjur um að endirbyggingin myndi skaða orðspor bankans voru óa.
This report evaluates how the Central Bank of Iceland's committees have functioned after new legislation in 2019 merged the Central Bank with the Financial Supervisory Authority. It was submitted because the law required the Prime Minister to deliver an independent expert assessment to Parliament by the end of 2021 regarding the success of this restructuring and how responsibilities are divided among the bank's different committees. The three experts concluded that the merger was carried out successfully and that concerns about reputational damage to the bank proved to be unfounded.
