Ingu Sæland spyr sjávarútvegs- og landbúnaðarráðherra um hvernig aflaheimildir á þorski eru úthlutaðar og til hvers þær fara. Hún vill vita nánar um það hver fær stórar aflaheimildir, hvernig erlend skip fá veiðiheimildir á íslensku fiskveiðisvæði, og hvort ólöglegt brottkast af fiski sé vandamál sem ekki sé verið að fylgjast með nógu vel. Svörin myndu sýna okkur hvort dreifing aflaheimilda er sanngjörn og gagnsæ, og hvort yfirvöld vita raunverulega hversu mikið af fiski endar á hafinu í stað þess að nýtast.

She wants to know who receives large quotas, how foreign vessels get fishing rights in Icelandic waters, and whether illegal discarding of fish is a problem that authorities are not properly monitoring. The answers would reveal whether quota distribution is fair and transparent, and whether the government truly knows how much fish ends up in the sea instead of being used.
