Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að Alþingi úthlutti 15 milljónum króna á ári til Íslandsdeildar Transparency International á árunum 2023–2027. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að spilling er alvarlegt samfélagsleg vandamál sem skaðar lýðræðið, mannréttindin og efnahaginn, og samtökin vinna mikilvæg verk við að berjast gegn því. Íslandsdeild Transparency International var stofnuð árið 2021 og vinnur að því að auka meðvitund um spillingu, halda fræðslufundi og stuðla að rannsóknum um leiðir til að bæta heilindi. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu samtökin fá fjármagn til að reka skrifstofu sína og halda áfram verkefnum sínum næstu fimm ár, sem myndi styrkja baráttu Íslands gegn spillingu.
This parliamentary resolution proposes that Parliament allocate 15 million krona per year to the Iceland branch of Transparency International for 2023–2027. The resolution was put forward because corruption is a serious societal problem that damages democracy, human rights, and the economy, and the organization does important work fighting against it. The Iceland branch of Transparency International was founded in 2021 and works to raise awareness about corruption, hold educational events, and promote research on ways to improve integrity.
