Lilja Rafneyja Magnúsdóttur spyr matvælaráðherra hvort hann telur það framkvæmanlegt að styrkja verkefni Hollvinasamtaka um endurbyggingu og nýja notkun á skipinu Maríu Júlíu BA-36, sem var fyrsta sérhannað hafrannsóknarskip Íslands. Verkefnið skiptir máli vegna þess að skipið á mikilvæga menningu- og sögulega þýðingu fyrir Ísland, og það hefur þegar fengið um 20 milljónir króna í opinbera styrki á síðastliðum áratug. Svar ráðherrans mun segja okkur hvort ríkið er tilbúið að halda áfram að styðja þetta verkefni og á hvaða forsendum það gæti gerst.
MP Lilja Rafneyja Magnúsdóttur asks the Food Minister whether he considers it feasible to support the Friends of María Júlía association's project to reconstruct and give new purpose to the ship María Júlía BA-36, Iceland's first purpose-built oceanographic research vessel. This matters because the ship holds important cultural and historical significance for Iceland, and the project has already received approximately 20 million króna in public funding over the past decade. The minister's response will reveal whether the government is willing to continue supporting this initiative and on what conditions it might do so.
