Gísli Rafn Ólafsson spyr dómsmálaráðherra um hversu langan tíma það tekur að afgreiða kynferðisbrot í Íslandi, frá því brot er tilkynnt til lögreglu þar til dómur fellur. Hann biður um nákvæmar tölur fyrir síðustu fimm ár og vill vita hvort munur er á meðferðartíma eftir því hvort brotaþoli var barn eða fullorðinn. Þetta skiptir máli því það getur sýnt hvort kerfið dugar til að meðhöndla þessi viðkvæmu mál með tilhlýðilegum hraða. Svörin munu segja okkur hvort þörf sé á umbótum í málsmeðferð kynferðisbrotamála og hvort börn og fullorðnir fái jafna meðferð.
