Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að stofnuð verði starfshóp sem rannsaka á hvort og hvernig ætti að leggja gjöld á fyrirtæki sem nýta auðlindir landsins eins og við og jarðhitann. Tillagan kemur fram vegna þess að stjórn hefur löng tíð velt því fyrir sér hvernig Ísland gæti fengið meiri peninga úr auðlindum sínum, svipað og Noregur gjörir með olíusjóðinn. Ef tillagan kemst í gegn myndu stjórnvöld setja saman hóp sérfræðinga sem myndu leggja fram tillögur um hvað væri besta leiðin til að innheimta gjöld af auðlindanýtingu og segja til um hvernig nágrannaríki okkar gera þetta. Þetta væri víðtæk breyting því núna er aðeins lagt gjald á veiðirétti en ekki á aðrar auðlindir.
