Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að breyta því hvernig skattar eru teknir af peningum sem fólk setur inn í lífeyrissjóði. Í stað þess að taka skatta þegar fólk fær síðar út lífeyri myndu skattar greiðast strax við innborgun. Ástæðan fyrir tillögunni er að lífeyrissjóðir eru orðnir mjög stórir og hafa mikil umsvif í íslensku viðskiptalífi, en peningarnir sem tillagan myndi afla myndu geta styrkt heilbrigðiskerfið og bætur fólks. Ef tillagan næði fram myndu skattar strax minnka ráðstöfunartekjur fólks aðeins, en með tímanum myndu það ekki hafa mikil áhrif á lífeyri þess.
This parliamentary resolution proposes changing how taxes are collected on money people put into pension funds. Instead of taking taxes when people later receive their pensions, taxes would be paid immediately when money is deposited. The reason for the proposal is that pension funds have become very large and have major influence in Iceland's business sector, but the money the resolution would raise could strengthen healthcare and social benefits. If the resolution passed, taxes would reduce people's spending money slightly right away, but over time it would not significantly impact their pensions.
