Guðmundur Ingi Kristinsson og aðrir þingmenn lögðu fram frumvarp um að breyta nafni stofnunarinnar sem þjónar blindum og sjónskertum. Markmiðið er að stytta óþjála heiti stofnunarinnar sem er um 13 orð og 90 bókstafir í einfalt nafnið "Sjónstöðin", sem var notað fyrir fyrri útgáfu stofnunarinnar. Starfsmenn og stjórnendur stofnunarinnar studdu þessa breytingu.
Guðmundur Ingi Kristinsson and other parliamentarians introduced a bill to change the name of the institution that serves blind and visually impaired people. The goal is to simplify the institution's unwieldy name, which currently consists of about 13 words and 90 characters, into the simple name "Sjónstöðin" (The Vision Center), which was used for the previous version of the institution. Staff and management of the institution supported this change.
