Berglinda Ósk Guðmundsdóttur spyr fjármála- og efnahagsráðherra hversu miklu það myndi kosta ríkissjóð að greiða foreldrum 100% af launum sínum meðan á fæðingarorlofi, í stað núverandi 80%. Hún vill vita kostnaðinn fyrir árin 2018–2023, og einnig fyrir framtíðina 2024–2027, með því að taka tillit til þess að aðrar bætur myndu lækka og að ríkissjóður myndi fá meira í skatta frá fólkinu. Svörin myndu sýna okkur hvort það væri fjárhagslega framkvæmanlegt að bæta kjör foreldra sem taka orlof og hvað það myndi raunverulega kosta útskriftin.
MP Berglinda Ósk Guðmundsdóttur asks the Minister of Finance how much it would cost the state to pay parents 100% of their wages during parental leave, instead of the current 80%. She wants to know the cost for 2018–2023, and also for the future 2024–2027, accounting for the fact that other benefits would decrease and the state would collect more income taxes from recipients. The answers would reveal whether it would be financially feasible to improve benefits for parents taking leave and what the net cost to the government would actually be.
