Þessi þingsályktunartillaga fjallar um endurvinnslu og hringrásarhagkerfið á Íslandi. Tillagan felur í sér að stjórnvöld þurfi að gera áætlun þar sem allar vörur verða endurvinnanlegar og það skýrt hvað á að gera við hverja vöru þegar hún fer til endurvinnslu. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að endurvinnsla er oft óljós og endalaust með mörgum vörum - til dæmis kom í ljós árið 2021 að íslenskt plast sem greiða átti fyrir endurvinnslu lá óendurrunnið í vöruskemmu í Svíþjóð. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu stjórnvöld þurfa að kanna öll framleiðsluferli og gera betur úr því hvernig vörur eru endurvinnanlegar og hvernig rekjanleiki endurvinnslu virkar.
This parliamentary resolution concerns recycling and the circular economy in Iceland. The proposal requires the government to create a plan where all products can be recycled and clearly explain how each product should be handled at the end of its life. The resolution was put forward because recycling is often unclear and problematic with many products - for example, in 2021 it was discovered that Icelandic plastic that was paid to be recycled sat unprocessed in a warehouse in Sweden. If the resolution passes, the government would need to examine all production processes and improve how products are recyclable and how the traceability of recycling works.
