Þessi þingsályktunartillaga er um áætlun til að bæta barnaverndarkerfið á Íslandi á árunum 2023–2027. Tillagan felur í sér þrjú meginverkefni: fyrst að endurskoða og endurbæta barnaverndarlögin til að gera kerfið betra og jafnari um allt land, í öðru lagi að kynna nýjar meðferðaraðferðir fyrir börn og fjölskyldur sem eru í vandræðum, og í þriðju lagi að styrkja stuðning við foreldra til að forðast að þurfa að flytja börn frá heimilum sínum. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að núverandi barnaverndarkerfi þarf að vera þokkalegra og árangursríkara við að hjálpa börnum og fjölskyldum. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu börn fá betri meðferð og stuðning, foreldrar fá þjálfun í uppeldi og barnaverndarkerfi myndi virka meira eins um allt landið.
This parliamentary resolution proposes an action plan to improve Iceland's child protection system from 2023 to 2027. The proposal has three main goals: first, to review and update child protection laws to make the system better and more equal across the country; second, to introduce new treatment methods for children and families in trouble; and third, to strengthen support for parents to prevent children from needing to be taken away from their homes. The resolution was put forward because the current child protection system needs to be more effective at helping children and families. If passed, children would receive better care and support, parents would get training in parenting skills, and the child protection system would work more consistently throughout Iceland.
