Hann vill vita nákvæmlega hversu margar byggingar ríkið hefur byggt, hversu stórar þær eru, hvað þær kosta og hversu mikil fasteignagjöld ríkið greiðir, allt sundurliðað eftir sveitarfélögum og árum. Með þessum spurningum fær Alþingi betri yfirsýn yfir hversu mikil fjármunir og eignir ríkið hefur bundið í húsnæði og mannvirkjum um allt landið. Svörin gætu leitt í ljós hvort ríkið nýtir eignir sínar skilvirkum hætti eða hvort það á of margar byggingar og greiðir óþarfa gjöld.
