Þessi þingsályktunartillaga felur í sér að ráðherra skal kanna tækifæri fjarvinnustaða á Íslandi og búa til stefnu um fjarvinnumál. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að COVID-faraldurinn sýndi að margt starf getur farið vel fram heima við og fólk myndi vilja það frekar. Ef tillagan gangi til framkvæmda myndu stjórnvöld setja stefnu sem myndu gera fjarvinnu auðveldari og algengari, sem myndi hjálpa fólki á landsbyggðinni, auka jafnvægi milli vinnu og einkalífs, og draga úr umferðarálagi í stærstu bæjunum. Það myndu sparast peningar fyrir fyrirtæki og ríkið, og myndu kolefnislosun minnka vegna minni umferðar.
This parliamentary resolution proposes that the government should examine the opportunities for remote work in Iceland and develop a remote work policy. The proposal was put forward because the COVID pandemic showed that many jobs can be done well from home and people want that option more. If the proposal is approved, the government would create a policy making remote work easier and more common, which would help people in rural areas, improve work-life balance, and reduce traffic congestion in the biggest towns. It would save money for businesses and the state, and carbon emissions would decrease due to less traffic.
