Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leitar heimildar Alþingis til að Ísland geti samþykkt fjórar nýjar reglur frá Evrópusambandinu sem tengjast EES-samningnum. Tillagan er lögð fram vegna þess að Ísland er skuldbundið samkvæmt EES-samningnum til að taka upp nýjar evrópsku reglur um málefni eins og opin gögn, skipahöfna, fjármálaþjónustu og ferðaúrræði. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu ný evrópsk lög um þessi efni verða hluti af íslenskum rétti og myndu stjórna því hvernig opinberar stofnanir deila gögnum, hvernig skip losna úrgangi, hvernig fjármálakerfið starfar og hvernig innflytjendur sannreyna auðkenni sín. Breytingarnar tryggja að Ísland haldi samkvæmt sömu reglum og önnur Evrópuríki og viðhaldi samningum sínum við Evrópusambandið.
This parliamentary resolution seeks permission from Iceland's parliament for Iceland to adopt four new EU regulations that are linked to the EEA Agreement.
