Þessi þingsályktunartillaga felur í sér að stofna starfshóp sem myndi búa til hvatakerfi fyrir bændur til að bæta umhverfið með því að endurheimt votlendi og skógrækt. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að Ísland þarf að draga úr losun gróðurhúsalofttegunda til að stemma stigu við hlýnun jarðar, og landbúnaðurinn getur átt stóran þátt í því. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu bændur fá hvata til að nota land sína á umhverfisvænni hátt, sem myndi draga úr losun og bjarga viðkvæmum vistkerfum. Þetta myndi gera íslenskan landbúnað umhverfisvænni og opna tækifæri til nýjungar í landbúnaðinum.
