Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að stofnuð verði miðstöð um íslenska þjóðtrú á Ströndum, sem myndi starfa innan Rannsóknasetu Háskóla Íslands á Hólmavík. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að rannsóknasetrið er nú þegar að gera gott starf við rannsóknir og útsendingu upplýsinga um íslenska þjóðtrú, og flutningsmenn telja að formleg miðstöð myndi efla þetta starf enn frekar. Ef tillagan gangi í gegn myndi það skipta sér út sem sérstök stofnun sem myndi halda utan um rannsóknir og fræðslu um íslensku þjóðtrú, með eigin starfsmanni og efla samstarf við háskóla, safn og aðrar stofnanir. Miðstöðin myndi einnig geta komið þessari þekkingu á alþjóðlega vettvang og gæti stuðlað að því að byggðirnar við Strandir haldu áfram að þróast menningarlega og efnahagslega.
This parliamentary resolution proposes establishing a center for Icelandic folk religion in Strandir, operating within the University of Iceland's Research Institute in Hólmavík.
