Þessi þingsályktunartillaga biður Alþingi um leyfi til að staðfesta tvær nýjar reglur frá EES-nefndinni sem snerta fjármálaþjónustu og stafræn fjarskipti. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að Evrópusambandið setti nýjar reglur um stafræna fjármála og gagnasafn, og Ísland þarf að samþykkja þessar breytingar sem hluta af EES-samningnum. Fyrri reglan (nr. 185/2023) fjallar um nýja tækni sem nefnist blokkakeðjatækni og hvernig hægt er að nota hana fyrir fjármálagerning, meðan sú seinni (nr. 240/2023) fjallar um frjálst flæði gagna sem ekki eru persónuleg. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu þessar nýju reglur taka gildi hér á Íslandi og myndu stjórna því hvernig fjármálafyrirtæki og fjarskiptafyrirtæki starfa með stafræn lausnir og gögn.
This parliamentary resolution asks the Icelandic Parliament for permission to confirm two new rules from the EEA Committee affecting financial services and digital communications.
