Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að flutt séu höfuðstöðvar Rariks, raforkufélags sem rekur 90% af raforkudreifikerfi landsins, frá Reykjavík út á landsbyggðina. Tillagan var fyrst lögð fram fyrir mörgum árum síðan og er nú endurlögð óbreytt. Aðalástæðan fyrir þessari tillögu er að flestar stærri opinberar stofnanir og vinnustaðir eru í höfuðborgarsvæðinu, sem gerir það erfitt fyrir fólk á landsbyggðinni að fá góð atvinnutækifæri. Ef tillagan næði fram að ganga myndu stærri deild af starfsmönnum Rariks flutt út á land, sem myndi stuðla að fleiri störfum og betri búsetuskilyrðum fyrir fólk utan höfuðborgarsvæðisins.
