Þessi þingsályktunartillaga fer fram fyrir bendum sem þjást af því að fuglir eins og álftir og gæsir éta upp ræktuð lönd þeirra. This parliamentary resolution seeks to help farmers who suffer damage when birds like whooper swans and geese eat their cultivated land. The proposal suggests allowing these birds to be hunted during specific times of year outside the regular hunting season, for example whooper swans from March 15 to June 15 and again from May 1 to October 1. The reason for the proposal is that the populations of these birds have grown significantly and they cause considerable damage to meadows and grain fields. If the resolution passes, farmers would be able to shoot these birds in areas where damage is occurring, to protect their crops. At the same time, authorities would need to create a management plan for these bird populations to ensure they are not harmed too much.
