Þessi þingsályktunartillaga krefst þess að ríkisstjórnin birti alla alþjóðasamninga sem Ísland á aðild að en hafa ekki komið út í opinberum Stjórnartíðindum fyrir lok apríl 2025. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að yfir 300 alþjóðasamningar eru óbirtir, og það er alvarleg vandamál því fólk getur ekki lesið reglurnar sem stjórnvöld nota við mikilvægar ákvarðanir eins og landamæraskimunar. Á meðan stjórnvöld hafa sagt að birting sé of dýr, hefur stærsti hluti vinnunnar þegar verið gerður þar sem samningarnir eru þýddir. Ef tillagan gangi í gegn myndu Íslendingar geta lesið allt sem stjórnvöld byggja ákvarðanir sínar á, og ríkisstjórnin myndi þurfa að birta nýja samninga reglulega framvegis.
This parliamentary resolution requires the government to publish all international agreements that Iceland is party to but have not been released in the official Law and Ministerial Gazette by the end of April 2025. The proposal was put forward because over 300 international agreements remain unpublished, which is a serious problem since people cannot read the rules that authorities use to make important decisions like border controls. While the government has claimed that publishing is too expensive, most of the work has already been done since the agreements are translated. If the resolution passes, Icelanders would be able to read everything the government bases its decisions on, and the government would be required to publish new agreements regularly going forward.
