Þessi þingsályktunartillaga biður félags- og vinnumarkaðsráðherra að rannsaka hverjir gætu verið kostir og gallar fjarvinnustefnu fyrir Ísland. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að fólk átti góða reynslu af fjarvinnu á tímum heimsfaraldursins og vill geta unnið heima frekar. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu stjórnvöld leggja fram áætlun um hvernig hægt væri að styðja fjarvinnu betur, sem gæti gert fólki kleift að vinna utan borgarinnar, hjálpað fólki með heilsufarsörðugleika og dregið úr umferð. Ráðherra á að klára rannsóknina fyrir árslok 2024 og segja Alþingi frá tillögum á vorþingi 2025.
This parliamentary resolution asks the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor to investigate the benefits and drawbacks of remote work policy for Iceland. The proposal was put forward because people had positive experiences working from home during the pandemic and want more flexibility. If passed, the government would develop a plan to better support remote work, which could allow people to work outside the capital, help people with disabilities participate in employment, and reduce traffic congestion. The minister must complete the study by the end of 2024 and present proposals to Parliament by spring 2025.
