Í þessu frumvarpi er lagt til að breyta lögum um fjölda borgarfulltrúa í Reykjavík þannig að lágmarksfjöldi verði 15 og hámarksfjöldi 23 í stað núverandi 23–31. Rökin fyrir breytingunni eru að Reykjavík hefur flestar borgarfulltrúa á íbúa miðað við aðrar höfuðborgir á Norðurlöndum og að borgarstjórn hefur ekki séð þörf fyrir fleiri fulltrúa en 15 í sögulegu samhengi.
This bill proposes to change the law on the number of city council members in Reykjavik so that the minimum would be 15 and maximum 23, instead of the current 23–31. The reasoning is that Reykjavik has the highest ratio of city council members per capita compared to other Nordic capitals, and the city council has historically not seen a need for more than 15 representatives.
