Þessi þingsályktunartillaga leggur til að stofna nefnd sem rannsoki hvort embætti sérstaks saksóknara hegðaði sér rétt á tímum fjármálahrunsins árið 2008. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að margir vilja vita hvort lögreglumenn og embættismenn gerðu sitt starf almennilega þegar þeir rannsokuðu stærstu bankasvikana landsins. Nefndin myndi skoða allar ákvarðanir saksóknara og einnig hvort aðrar stofnanir eins og Fjármálaeftirlitið og skattyfirvöld myndu það rétt. Ef tillagan gangi fram myndu við fá opinbera skýrslu um hvort allt var gert samkvæmt lögum og hvort þyrfti að breyta einhverju fyrir framtíðina.
This parliamentary resolution proposes establishing a committee to investigate whether the special prosecutor's office acted properly during Iceland's 2008 financial collapse. The proposal was put forward because many want to know if police and government officials did their jobs fairly when investigating the country's biggest banking crimes. The committee would examine all the prosecutor's decisions and also whether other agencies like the Financial Supervisory Authority and tax authorities did things correctly. If the resolution passes, Iceland would get a public report on whether everything was done according to the law and whether anything needs to change for the future.
