Þessi þingsályktunartillaga fer fram fyrir einkaaðila að byggja og reka Sundabraut, sem væri ein dýrasta vegaframkvæmd á Íslandi. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að Sundabraut kostar of mikinn pening fyrir opinbera fjármuni, og því myndu það ganga betur ef einkafyrirtæki myndu taka við verkinu og fjármagna það sjálf. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu einkaaðilar byggja brautina, reka hana og safna veggjöldum á því meðan, og ríkið myndi síðan taka við henni eftir nokkurra ára samning. Þetta væri ný leið til að ná þessari verkefni gangi þar sem hefðbundin opinber fjármögnun hefur ekki reynst möguleg.
This parliamentary resolution proposes letting a private company build and operate Sundabraut, which would be one of Iceland's most expensive road projects.
