Þessi þingsályktunartillaga felur í sér að heimila bændum að veiða álft, grágæs, heiðagæs og helsingi á tilteknum tímum ársins utan hefðbundins veiðitíma til að vernda beitilönd sín og kornökra. This parliamentary resolution proposes allowing farmers to hunt pink-footed geese, greylag geese, bean geese and barnacle geese during certain times of year outside the normal hunting season to protect their pastures and grain fields. The proposal was put forward because these birds cause significant damage to grasslands and croplands, and farmers need better tools to combat their impact. Currently these birds are protected by law, but their populations have grown dramatically over recent decades. If the resolution passes, authorities would develop proposals for temporary hunting permits in areas where the birds cause the most damage, and would create a management and protection plan for these bird species and their populations.
