Þessi þingsályktunartillaga felur í sér að ríkisstjórnin á að búa til mælaborð sem fylgist með því hvernig innflytjendum gengur að aðlagast íslensku samfélagi. Tillagan var lögð fram vegna þess að fjöldi útlendinga á Íslandi hefur þrefaldast á síðasta áratug og eru nú um 19% af heildarmannfjölda, en voru aðeins 7% árið 2014. Nágrannaríkin okkar eins og Danmörk, Noregur og Svíþjóð eru þegar með gagnagrunna sem mæla hvernig innflytjendum gengur með atvinnuleysi, menntun, tungumál og aðra mikilvæga hluti. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu Íslendingar fá sama gerð gagna og myndu hjálpa stjórnvöldum að sjá hvað gengur vel og hvað þarf að bæta í innflytjendamálum.
This parliamentary resolution proposes that the government create a dashboard to track how immigrants are integrating into Icelandic society. The resolution was put forward because the number of foreigners in Iceland has tripled in the last decade and now makes up about 19% of the population, compared to just 7% in 2014. Our neighboring countries like Denmark, Norway, and Sweden already have data systems that measure how immigrants are doing in employment, education, language skills, and other important areas. If the resolution passes, Icelanders would get the same type of data and it would help authorities see what is working well and what needs to improve in immigration matters.
