Þessi skýrsla fjallar um mikilvægi Fríverslunarsamninga Evrópu (EFTA) og Evrópska efnahagssvæðisins (EES) fyrir Ísland, sem gefur Íslendingum aðgang að stórum evrópskum markaði með 460 milljónum manna. Skýrslan var lögð fram til þess að gerð væri grein fyrir starfi íslenskra þingmanna í EFTA og EES nefndum á árinu 2024, þar sem meðal annars var fjallað um áskoranir við innleiðingu ESB-gerða, þróun og samkeppnishæfni Evrópu, og áhrif Úkraínu-átaka á evrópska varnarmál og efnahag.
This report discusses the importance of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and the European Economic Area (EES) for Iceland, which provides Icelanders access to a large European market of 460 million people. The report was submitted to account for the work of Icelandic parliamentarians in EFTA and EES committees during 2024, covering challenges in implementing EU regulations, Europe's technological competitiveness, and the impact of the Ukraine conflict on European defense and the economy.
