Þessi þingsályktunartillaga biður Alþingi um að samþykkja þrjár nýjar reglur frá EES-nefndinni sem varða fjármálaþjónustu og sparnað. Tillagan er lögð fram vegna þess að Ísland er hluti af EES-samningnum og þarf að bæta evrópskum reglum inn í íslenskan rétt. Ef tillagan nær fram að ganga myndu íslendingar geta notað nýjar sparnaðarleið fyrir eftirlaun, og fjármálafyrirtæki myndu þurfa að fylgja strangari reglum um öryggi og eftirlit. Breytingarnar myndu einnig gera það auðveldara fyrir fólk að flytja peningana sína á milli EES-ríkja og myndu auka fjárfestingar á Evrópska efnahagssvæðinu.
This parliamentary resolution asks Parliament to approve three new rules from the EEA Joint Committee concerning financial services and savings. The proposal is being put forward because Iceland is part of the EEA agreement and must incorporate European rules into Icelandic law.
